Supplies Needed:

Paint Shop Pro 8. PSP 7 should work, too. You can download a trial copy of v8 from Jasc.
My Cherub Angel in a Shell in psp format compatible with PSP 5, 6, 7, & 8.

Step #1: Open a new transparent image 400 x 400, 16 million colors. Flood fill with the Indigo Purple gradient, linear style, Angle 303, Repeat 0. Add a layer named Star.

Step #2: Set your foreground material to null and the background to white. Select the preshape tool and select Burst 4 from the drop down list. Use these settings and then pull out a flattened shape like in the above image:

Step #3: Apply a cutout with these settings:

Step #4: Apply a Drop Shadow with these settings:

Step #5: Apply an Inner Bevel with these settings, color #5F727A:

Step #6: Apply Noise with these settings:

Step #7: Add a new layer. Select the tube tool and apply the cherub tube at 45%. Use the Move tool to place the cherub on the star. Then add an Inner Bevel with the same settings as in Step #5:

Step #9: Make the background layer active, then select Effects/Illumination Effects/Sunburst and use these settings and color #94B8BE and use the settings shown:


Step #10: Select the crop tool and then crop similar to mine. Or if you prefer, resize the image to 300 x 300. If you resize, you may need to sharpen it a little.

Step #11: Add a frame - Image/Picture Frame...

Step #12: From the drop down menu, select Edge 01 with these settings:

NOTE: To make the background a color other than white, click in the box at the lower left of the frame screen under Transparency to uncheck transparent, then select the color you prefer.

Now select Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten). Export as a JPG at around 10-20 compression.
